The Sta. Elena Residence. A spacious four-story house, a family of four find their dream home-away-from-home. The owners are avid collectors of art, and as such there was a need to create enough walls to hang the substantial part of their collection.
Instead of becoming a simple white box, the need for harmony was emphasizes since the building's conception. Striking a balance between the walls for art and fenestration for cross-ventilation was the challenge that was ultimately achieved with this project.
Definitely a defining characteristic of the home, the art works are given their due through the creative use of space, light and form of the home.
